Kogan Mobile has claimed a victory today in its court case against Telstra wholesaler ISPOne.
Kogan Mobile launched earlier this year, and was plagued by complaints from customers whose accounts had been suspended from the supposedly unlimited service for making too many calls or using too much data.
Kogan, which took ISPOne to the Victorain Supreme Court on Wednesday, 10 April, alleged that the Telstra mobile wholesaler had been the one to suspend those accounts, bypassing Kogan Mobile in the process. Today, Kogan is claiming that the court found in its favour, banning ISPOne from dealing directly with Kogan Mobile customers.
“Today’s victory means that Kogan Mobile customers can rest assured that their services will not be unlawfully interfered with by the wholesaler,” Kogan said in a statement. “Australians can trust Kogan Mobile to continue to provide the best deals in the market. We’re glad the right result was reached, and that the truth about the last few months is now abundantly clear.”
However, no verdict was delivered. Instead, ISPOne withdrew from the case, reports CNET Australia‘s sister site ZDNet. The wholesaler has agreed to stop suspending Kogan Mobile customers without Kogan’s permission; however, the court is no longer involved.
ISPOne has declined to comment.
