Samsung may introduce a Nexus 11 tablet later in the year, according to tech site SamMobile.

Details surfacing this past weekend indicate that Samsung could introduce no fewer than four more tablets in 2013, one of them a Nexus device.

The so-called Nexus 11 will reportedly feature an 11-inch Super PLS TFT display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and microSD expansion. This high-end unit will be the first tablet to feature Samsung’s octa-core processor, alleges the blog. It is unclear at this point which version of Android will run the operation.

Given the recent whispers that Android 5.0 may not arrive until later in the year, I suspect the Nexus 11 could among the first to see the latest release. The Nexus 10, also a Samsung tablet, was introduced in late 2012 as one of the first products to run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Also listed on the roadmap is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 11, which looks to feature many of the same specifications. With a less powerful dual-core processor, this one will presumably come with a TouchWiz-flavored user experience and perhaps a lower price.

Other tablet plans on the horizon include a 7-inch Galaxy Tab Duos with dual-SIM card support as well as a Galaxy Tab 8. While the former looks to be a slight take on the new tablet introduced on Monday, the latter is primed to compete with Apple’s iPad Mini.

The tablets’ exact availability and pricing are not yet known; however, we should expect more details in the ensuing months.
