Thin is in: the rumoured Huawei Ascend P6 is about to be the thinnest smart phone in the whole wide world. Now we’re not ones to promote negative body image, so let’s see what else is going on with this skinny Android smart phone.
The Ascend P6 is reported to run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software — but interestingly, in leaked photos from EVleaks it appears to be missing the usual Android home buttons, typically found beneath the screen.
According to recent leaks, that screen is set to be a 4.7-inch high definition display. Despite measuring just 6.2mm thick, the phone contains a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. The thin metal casing probably keeps the size of the battery down, so we’ll have to look closely at battery life with that powerful processor and large screen sucking up the juice.
A 5-megapixel camera is also rumoured to be included in the thin phone.
Good looks aren’t just about size though, and the P6 is alleged to come draped in black, white or pink.
One final leak — posted by a Huawei boss on Chinese social network Weibo, then swiftly deleted — suggests that we’ll see the phone at a launch event for the P series on 18 June, right here in London.
