You can now try iOS 7 on your iPad. The preview version of the next generation of Apple software is now available for tablets as well as the iPhone and iPod touch.
The preview software is available to app developers and anyone willing to register with Apple as a developer. The Music and Photo Booth apps are different, but apart from that it’s basically the iPhone software with a bit more legroom.
iOS 7 is the biggest overhaul to the design of Apple’s software for iPad, iPod and iPhone since its inception. New colourful icons and flatter, cleaner design show off new features such as Control Centre and new gestures.
Control Centre is a pop-up bar of quick shortcuts and settings that overlays part of the screen. The bigger iPad screen means Control Centre covers less of the background than it does on the iPhone.
