Android’s march for global dominance of the smartphone OS market continues unabated, according to Kantor Worldpanel data.

The latest results (PDF) for smartphone OS sales from the research company show that Android continues to rule the roost, with Windows Phone also showing solid growth.
The data analysed sales figures for the three months ending June 2012, and compared them to the same period for 2013.
In eight of the 10 markets analysed, the Android OS showed solid growth, with only Great Britain and the UK showing declines in sales — Android was down 1.0 percent and 1.1 percent, respectively. In all 10 markets, the operating system was number one.
Windows Phone was also on the rise, a clear third place in all markets except Mexico.
In Australia, the current split has Android at 64.6 per cent of sales, iOS at 27.6 per cent and Windows Phone at 5.3 per cent. BlackBerry was down by 1.0 per cent to just 0.3 per cent of sales locally.
