Make a Note in your calendar: the new Samsung Galaxy Note will be unveiled on September 4.

Invitations have been sent to press for an announcement on that date, the tagline ‘Note the date’ giving a clanging clue as to what we can expect.

Like the two previous generations of Note phablets, the Note 3 will be unveiled at annual technology trade show IFA in Berlin, this time at a special event entitled Samsung Unpacked 2013 Episode 2.

Somewhere between a phone and tablet, the original Note was the first phablet. The Note 3 is expected to have a 5.7-inch 1080p screen and trademark S Pen stylus.

Update 9:02 a.m. PT: That same day in New York, Samsung will also host a live broadcast event and “first hands-on experience of the next Galaxy” for the media in Times Square at 1 p.m. ET.
