Is this what the Google Nexus 5 will look like? Phone fans make their best guesses with mock-ups of the fast-approaching follow-up to the Google Nexus 4, set to introduce Android KitKat any day.
Purportedly built by LG, the Nexus 5 is set to be the next flagship for Google’s Android operating system, to be powered by the cutting edge and unadorned version KitKat update.
Phone fans have drawn on leaked pictures and videos to come up with rendered images of what the new Nexus will look like. The image above comes courtesy of Droid Life, which expects specs including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 M8974A processor, 2,300mAh battery, NFC and wireless charging.
The expected Nexus 5 smart phone boasts a 5-inch screen with slimline bezel around the edge and curved ends. That’s the look suggested by a mysterious Nexus phone appearing briefly in a video of Googlefolk enjoying the unveiling of a KitKat statue — a video yanked from the Web with a haste that suggests it does indeed show more than was intended.
Or maybe that’s what those cheeky scamps at Google want us to think…
The Big G has yet to reveal when we’ll get our hot sweaty hands on the Nexus 5, but signs are pointing to it being sooner rather than later: the Nexus 4 has had a brutal price cut to clear it from shelves on the Google Play online shop, presumably to make way for the new phone.
What would you like to see in the Nexus 5? How will it stack up against the cheaper iPhone 5C expected to be revealed this week? Tell me your thoughts in the comments, or on our Facebook page.
