Samsung take note — Alcatel is cooking up its own 6-inch monster-phone, and it could be dirt cheap, to boot.
Details concerning the snappily-named One Touch Scribe Pro surfaced on Twitter, via serial leakster Eldar Murtazin. As well as a picture of the phone itself, we also have a list of specifications.
For instance, you can expect a quad-core processor clocked at a hearty 1.5GHz, a 6-inch display and a 13.1-megapixel camera. A muscular 3,400mAh battery appears to be on board too, which will hopefully make the Scribe Pro a bit better at not dying while you’re out and about.
A stylus appears to be present as well, as is a flip cover with an intriguing LED display. We’ll have to wait to see whether those are optional extras, or come with the phone.
Alcatel is best known for making very basic, cheap phones, so it’ll be interesting to see how capable the Scribe Pro is. In a follow-up tweet, Murtazin said the Scribe Pro would have a price in Hong Kong of around $300, which equates to about £190.
If Alcatel can indeed make a 6-inch smart phone for under £200, we’d definitely be curious to take a look. Here’s hoping the Scribe Pro makes its way to the UK before very long.
