Sprint is adding another Windows Phone 8 handset to its lineup.
On Friday, August 16, the carrier will kick off sales of the Samsung Ativ S Neo smartphone, Sprint revealed on Wednesday. The Ativ will be the second Windows 8 handset carried by Sprint this year and the first with international roaming capabilities.
After a $50 mail-in rebate, the phone will cost $150 with the standard two-year agreement.
With a 4.8-inch HD display, the Ativ S Neo includes a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a microSD memory slot that can handle up to a 64GB card. The 2,000mAh lithium-ion battery is removable should it need to be replaced.
An 8-megapixel main camera with an LED flash is in the rear, while a 1.9-megapixel shooter is in front. Samsung has also added a few photo apps. Beauty Shot can smooth out the skin in headshots. Manga Camera can turn your subjects into cartoons. And the Photo Editor app lets you tweak and share your photos.
The phone comes with Samsung’s Ativ Beam, an NFC-enabled feature that lets you share photos, music, and videos with other Windows Phone 8 handsets and certain Android devices.
