Where to follow Apple’s iPhone event on CNET

You may have heard Apple’s hosting a modest little soiree tonight, with just Tim Cook and several hundred of his closest journalists. As it’s September, we’re confident we’re going to see new iPhones — but exactly what, dear friends, is a subject for enjoyable speculation.

Will there be a fingerprint-scanning iPhone 5S? Will a cheery little plastic iPhone 5C grace us with its colourful presence? Will there be new Macs or iPads too, or even a leftfield gadget like an iWatch or an Apple TV?

All will be revealed this evening, with the event scheduled to start at 6pm UK time. CNET will be bringing you our inimitable brand of breaking news, pin-sharp first impressions, gallons of photos and great dollops of video.

Our live coverage fires up at 5pm UK time, with Molly Wood, Brian Tong and Donald Bell warming up for Mr Cook with their charming repartee streamed live from our cupboard studio in San Francisco.

The live blog from the event itself, which is being held at Apple HQ in Cupertino, will be helmed by our new star signing Tim Stevens, ably supported by Scott Stein.

You can expect all the UK-related news — where and when you can buy the new stuff and how much it’ll set you back in the Queen’s pounds sterling — as soon as we get it here on CNET UK.

What are you most looking forward to? Can Apple hold its ground in the increasingly vicious smart phone market? Any last-minute predictions? The comments, as always, are open, or you can speculate to your heart’s content on our Facebook page.
