Three’s Feel At Home: Phone home for free on your hols

If you’re on Three and about to go off on your holibobs, don’t worry about your phone bill. The numerical network has a new service for all its customers called Feel At Home, which lets you use your phone abroad much as you do in the UK.

Feel At Home is limited to seven countries: Austria, Australia, Denmark, Hong Kong, Italy, the Republic of Ireland and Sweden. But it’s not limited to calls — you can text and use mobile data too, for no extra charge.

It only applies to calls and texts to UK numbers, so if you need to ring someone in the country you’re actually in, you’ll pay roaming rates.

Any Three customer can take advantage of the offer, whether you’re on a contract, on pay as you go or SIM-only. You don’t need to set it up, just fly to one of those seven countries and you’re good to go.

It means you don’t have to wait until the seatbelt sign goes off when you touch down back in the UK to share your awesome snaps and gloat about your tan. Better yet, why not just keep that to yourself and have a nice holiday?

Three hasn’t said whether it will expand the deal to different countries, but I’ll keep an eye out. Let me know what you think of Feel At Home in the comments — should people just turn their phone off on holiday? Or is it crucial to keep in touch? Our deeply tanned Facebook page is open too.
