Archos to debut a dozen new Android devices at IFA

Archos is preparing to unveil no less than a dozen new Android devices at the annual IFA conference in early September.

According to an (.PDF) detailing the company’s first half 2013 earnings, Archos will soon introduce five Android tablets and seven smartphones. Unfortunately, the French hardware maker shed few details on the upcoming products, painting with only broad strokes.

Archos plans to unveil tablets based around themes such as gaming, education, and connected television. At least some of the tablets are considered high end and will include 3G connectivity.

With only three Android smartphones released thus far, Archos is hardly considered a player in the space. With that said, a couple of models with top-tier hardware could put pressure on some of the bigger names.

IFA 2013 takes place September 6-11 and is expected to yield plenty of new Android devices from multiple companies. Be sure to follow along as CNET brings you first-hand accounts and early impressions from the show floor.
