iPhone and iPad owners, it’s time to delve into your smart phone’s Settings app — there’s a brand new version of iOS 7 available to download today.
The iOS 7.0.4 update sadly doesn’t bring any life-changing new features, but does offer ‘bug fixes and improvements’, which we suppose are fine too.
Specifically, the latest patch for Apple’s revamped iOS platform targets a FaceTime bug that caused calls to fail ‘for some users’, according to the update description.
Although the update itself is a reasonable 17MB, you’ll need at least 765MB of free storage to download it, so get ready to clear out some old apps if your device is already at capacity.
iOS 7 is the biggest change to Apple’s mobile operating system in its history, bringing in a flatter, more colourful aesthetic.
While a massive departure from iOS’ tradition look, not everyone is happy. Some Apple fans have complained that iOS 7’s swooping transitions and floaty icons make them feel seasick.
A recently-added settings tweak does let you turn off these high-flying animations, something owners of older, less-powerful devices might want to consider.
