Google Nexus 10 alleged official picture revealed

Is this our first look at the new Google Nexus 10? With the Google Nexus 5 and new Android KitKat software just around the corner, we could be set for a streamlined 10-inch Google tablet too.

Pictured above on the left is the current Nexus 10, and on the right is an alleged press snap of the Google Nexus 10, as shared with the world by PhoneArena.

If real, the picture suggests a much thinner bezel for the new Nexus 10, which should shrink the overall size while keeping the expansive screen.

The Nexus 10 will square up to the new slimline iPad Air, but should seriously undercut the Apple tablet with a price tag that’s actually within the grasp of normal human beings. A previous leak courtesy of PC World suggested the new Nexus 10 would cost £349, while the high cost of the new iPad has certainly left CNET readers unimpressed.

Both the iPad Air and new iPad mini — which faces off against the Google Nexus 7 — go on sale in November: click here for the full line-up of iPad Air UK prices, or click here for the full range of iPad Mini UK prices. The Nexus 10, and the Nexus 5 and KitKat, are also expected any day now, the Nexus 5 even briefly showing up on Google Play.

Previous rumours suggest the Nexus tablet will be built by Asus instead of Samsung. Asus already builds the 7-inch Nexus 7, and could base the new larger tablet on the latest Asus Transformer Pad Infinity slate — complete with a delightfully detailed 2,560×1,600-pixel resolution.

Will the Nexus 10 blow the new iPad Air out of the water? What do you want to see in the next Nexus? Tell me your thoughts in the comments or on our CNET UK Facebook page.
