Brace yourselves, tablet fans — Tim Cook and company are poised to reveal Apple’s newest iPad models. Here’s how to follow the launch on CNET later today.
Apple’s bash is happening at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theatre in San Francisco, and alongside a new iPad and iPad mini, we’re hoping to see some new Mac computers, and more information on Apple’s ‘Mavericks’ update to OS X.
The event kicks off at 6pm today UK time. CNET will be at the event to bring you all the information as it unfolds, relaying news as it happens via our live blog.
On that page you’ll get live updates from our team on the ground, and be directed to hands-on photos, first impressions and news of all the new tech that Apple is showcasing.
Little is known for sure about Apple’s new iPads, though we’re expecting to see the iPad mini 2 come in the same grey and silver colours that feature on the iPhone 5S, and the Touch ID fingerprint scanner from Apple’s new smart phone has also been tipped to make an appearance on both the mini and the larger model. We’re likely to see the larger iPad getting a dose of Apple’s new 64-bit A7 processor, to boot.
The big question is whether Apple will finally bring a Retina display to its tiny tablet. The iPad mini competes with compelling gadgets like the £200 Nexus 7, so winning us over won’t be easy.
