iPad Air and iPad mini go 4G on EE, Vodafone

If you want to combine your new iPad with extra-fast 4G speed, EE and Vodafone have confirmed they will sell the Apple iPad mini and iPad Air on 4G contracts, with Orange, T-Mobile and Three also offering the new tablets on contract.

Both new tablets, announced yesterday and on sale next month, have the option of extra-fast 4G LTE technology for speedy surfing and streaming when you’re out and about, so will be available with a choice of 3G or 4G contracts.

Alternatively you can buy either tablet without a mobile data option, connecting to the Internet over Wi-Fi.

Three was the first UK network out of the blocks to confirm it would offer the new iPads the thumbs-up, but we’re expecting all the other networks to follow suit. EE’s own T-Mobile and Orange networks also offer the tablets on 3G deals.

O2 is the last major network we’re yet to hear from, but is likely to add the iPads to its new 4G service too.

The new tablets are also on sale at Currys and PC World. Although there’s no plans for a pre-order option, if you order your new iPad on launch day it can wing its way to you via same-day delivery.

The super-slimline iPad Air goes on sale in Britain on 1 November, starting from £399 for the model without 3G or 4G mobile data; click here for the full line-up of iPad Air UK prices. And the new sawn-off Apple iPad mini hits shops later in November, costing between £320 and £659 — click here for the full range of iPad Mini UK prices.

Prices from the networks will be confirmed nearer to the launch.
