Motorola Moto G leaks, is a mid

Motorola might be making its own modular mobiles (with the help of the man behind Phonebloks), but that doesn’t mean it’ll stop pumping out traditional smart phones. The Motorola Moto G could be making its way to Phones 4u in time for Christmas, from the look of this leak that comes via GSMArena‘s sources.

The Moto G is a mid-range smartie, with a 4.5-inch, 720p screen. Beavering away underneath is a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, along with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. No chocolatey software treats, unfortunately.

The Moto G also leaked earlier this week, but with conflicting specs. @evleaks claimed it’ll have a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chip inside, and a 4.7-inch screen, though he didn’t back these facts up with any hard info. It’s all still speculative of course, but this card from Phones 4u looks to be the real deal.

I contacted Motorola and Phones 4u for comment. Motorola came back with no comment — I’ll update this story if I hear back from Phones 4u.

Camera-wise, the Moto G is said to be sporting a 5-megapixel snapper on the back, that’s capable of 720p video recording, as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facer. Inside, there’s 8GB of storage, though there’s no word on whether it’ll have a memory card slot for expanding that.

The screen is said to be Corning Gorilla Glass, and the device will have a water-repellant coating, according to the Phones 4u card. That coating should be handy if we get that torrential rain that was supposed to fall last night.

The Moto G will come with swappable back panels, and will cost £135, according to the leak. That’s less than half the price of the new Nexus 5, though Google’s blower does have twice the storage, a bigger screen, and newer software.

What do you reckon? Worth a look? Let me know in the comments, or on our Facebook page.
