Looking to spend some of that Christmas moolah that came in your cards? Well here’s a ridiculously good deal, courtesy of Amazon. The Nokia Lumia 520 has dropped to just £69.95 on the online retailer, Coolsmartphone reports. In comparison, the 520 is £140 at Argos, £146 at Play.com, and £100 at eGlobal.
The Lumia 520 is unlocked and SIM-free too, so you can slot in a SIM from any network and get using it. There’s no top-up required either, so you won’t be slapped with a mandatory £10 credit to add, which would bulk up the price.
Only the black version is available for £69.95 though. The other colours on Amazon cost a lot more, as they’re sold by third parties, not direct from Amazon. The red one will set you back £109, white is £99.48, cyan £99.45, and yellow is £140.
Black it is then.
As we noted in our review, the Lumia 520 is a decent little handset, with a good 4-inch screen, and a dual-core processor keeping things running nicely. It comes bundled with apps too, including Nokia’s excellent Drive satnav. The only real letdown is the camera — its 5-megapixel snapper isn’t a patch on the Lumia 720‘s 6.7-megapixel effort.
But overall, it’s a great bargain buy. It shares some of the same specs as its bigger brother, the Lumia 720, but for much less cash. Much much less cash, now.
The Lumia 520 came out in the spring, so it’s maybe a little old. But that doesn’t stop it being a decent handset. And at £70, it makes even the £130 Motorola Moto G look pricey.
The gadget sales are off and running right now, with Currys & PC World, Phones 4U and Vodafone getting in on the action, among others. Have you snapped up a post-Christmas bargain? Let me know what in the comments, or on our Facebook page.
