It’s almost like they want us to see it. More pictures of the rumoured Nokia Normandy have leaked online, giving a glimpse of Nokia’s plans for an Android smart phone.
The latest snap purporting to be the Normandy comes courtesy of Vizileaks, showing what appears to be the Lumia 720 bowing down before the rumoured phone. In this and previous leaked pictures, the Normandy appears to sport a different home key — an arrow — than Nokia’s Lumia devices, which show off a Windows Phone logo.
If another leaked image proves to be genuine, the Normandy’s software will be a sort of cross between Android and Windows Phone. As shown by @evleaks, the interface displays Android with large, coloured squares very similar to the cheerful live tiles of Microsoft’s software. Microsoft probably won’t mind this act of plagiarism, seeing as it now owns Nokia.
Other leaks have shown off more of the Normandy’s exterior, clad in bright Lumia-like colours including blue, yellow and a rather lairy neon green.
If it is powered by Android, the Normandy’s software is expected to be a forked version of Android, perhaps similar to the customised Android software in the Amazon Kindle Fire tablets.
