Web site Nowhereelse.fr has a supposed image of the the Ascend P7. The phone could make its debut at next week’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Once known by its code name of “Sophia,” the Ascend P7 looks to follow closely in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Ascend P6. The leaked photo shows the device as being offered in at least four colors: black, white, pink, and gold.
Early rumors for the handset include a display of 5 inches to 5.5 inches with a 1080p HD resolution. Presumably powered by Android 4.4 KitKat, the Ascend P7 is alleged to have a 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.
In terms of cameras, the Huawei handset could employ a combination of a 13-megapixel rear shooter and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
We’ll have to wait just a few more days to find out for certain what Huawei has up its sleeves. Whatever it is must be worth thumping its chest; a pre-MWC video surfacing this week has the hardware maker taking swipes at Samsung and Apple.
CNET will be in Barcelona next week covering Mobile World Congress from the ground. Look for hands-on impressions and early reactions to all the new goods.
