Samsung’s Galaxy S5 event at MWC 2014: Join us from 5.30am AEDT Tues (live blog)

With an event called Unpacked 5, Samsung certainly wasn’t hiding the fact that its set to reveal its next flagship smartphone.

In fact, with the company doing a pre-reveal on the new-look (and Android-free) Gear 2 and Gear Neo smartwatches, the stage is now clear for the Galaxy S5 to be front and centre of the event.

While rumours have run rife about the hardware configurations — fingerprint scanner, iris scanner, metal body — we can also expect a big overhaul of Samsung’s outdated TouchWiz interface.

Will the Korean electronics giant have any surprises up its sleeve? We’ll find out when we live blog the event starting from 5.30am AEDT on Tuesday 25 February.
