The hotly-tipped Samsung Galaxy S5 lands in one week, and new leaks hint at a screen so detailed it will melt your eyes right out of your head.
In the latest leak, a Dutch site dedicated to the S5 reveals a screenshot alleged to be from the settings of the S5, boasting a screen resolution of 1,440×2,560 pixels. In a screen measuring 5.2 inches, that’s a retina-meltingly detailed 560 pixels per inch.
For context, the current Galaxy S4 sports a 441ppi screen and the HTC One boasts 446ppi, while the Apple iPhone 5S offers just 326ppi.
This backs up previous rumours that the S5 will have a QHD screen — as in quad HD, four times the size of 720p (ie. regular HD) and not to be confused with qHD, which is a quarter of the size.
Previous leaks pointing at that high-resolution screen include alleged glimpses of what could be the packaging for the new Samsung Galaxy flagship, as well as benchmarks pointing to different versions of the phone.
The S5 will be unveiled in exactly a week — next Monday evening to be precise. Samsung draws back the curtain on the new phone at Mobile World Congress, the annual mobile phone and tablet extravaganza kicking off next weekend in Barcelona.
