Meet the ginormous, 5.7-inch Boost Max from ZTE

ZTE confirmed today that the colossal, 5.7-inch Boost Max, will receive an Android 4.4 KitKat update. Though no exact date has been determined, the update is set to occur some time later this year.

Currently, the device ships with Android 4.1.2, and will run ZTE’s MiFavor user interface layered on top. Receiving a jump from Jelly Bean to KitKat will enable users a handful of new features including quicker access to Google Now.

Interested buyers can purchase the 4G LTE handset for $299.99 prepaid from Boost Mobile. In addition to the expansive display, the Max features a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and expandable memory. However, keep in mind that during our tests, the smartphone took an unusually long time to charge its battery, and call quality, while passable, was not impressive.
