Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi will be hosting a launch event at the Beijing National Convention Center next week and it’s likely we’ll see the launch of the company’s next flagship handset.
If the rumors are to be believed, the next phone will be called the Mi3S — after its current flagship, the Mi3 — and it will have 4G LTE connectivity for both China and the other Asian markets where the company is currently active.
Other leaked specs include a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, a 13-megapixel camera and Android KitKat (4.4.2) onboard.
Since it’s likely to be a refreshed model of the current Mi3, don’t expect the phone to have a microSD card slot, and it will probably be packing an embedded battery. Of course, Xiaomi could come up with a completely new design as well as a new name, so obviously, we’re not calling it just yet.
CNET will be attending the event, so be sure to check back next week for all the juicy details.
