HTC may deliver an Android L update for a number of smartphones as soon as October, says a newly leaked roadmap. According to a table put together by an XDA member close to the situation, HTC is already “evaluating” the update for its 2013 and 2014 line.

HTC was quick to announce plans for the Android L release in the hours after the Google I/O keynote address. The One M8 and One M7 should receive their respective updates “within 90 days of receiving final software from Google.”
It’s worth noting that the software offered to developers today is only a preview of the build and should not be considered final. HTC, for its part, is giving itself a buffer for the update and may deliver it anytime in the fourth quarter of the year.
Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, an Android 4.4.4 update is also expected for multiple models and could roll out the door as soon as July. Among those looking for the latest official Android release are the One M8, One Mini 2 , One E8, and One M7.
Interestingly enough, devices such as the One Max and recently introduced Desire 610 won’t receive the 4.4.4 update, according to this road map. This is not to suggest that HTC is already done with updates for these devices. Each of them is in the “evaluation” stage and could see Android L and the next-gen Sense release later this year.
Keep in mind that none of this is official and that HTC has not specifically commented on its update schedule. Also, what we see in the leaked roadmap is subject to change, especially when dealing with a preview release of Android.
