Ask consumers where their shiny new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus came from and you might get “the Apple store,” or “China” as an answer. But the origin story for the bigger ( and bendier) phones is a bit more complex, as you can see in the infographic below created by product-review site CompareCamp.

The graphic by author Alex Hillsberg definitely contains some facts I found surprising. I knew China was heavily involved in the production of iPhones, for example, but didn’t realize that Japan came in second as the country with the largest number of Apple suppliers. And speaking of those suppliers, I also wasn’t aware of the fact that companies like Samsung and Sony were so intimately involved in making the iPhone 6. Aren’t they Apple’s archenemies?
