Toshiba’s 32WLT58 is the new 32-inch LCD TV from the Japanese giant — an upgrade of the 32WL56. It packs an integrated digital tuner, two HDMI inputs and Active Vision picture processing, all wrapped up in a slinky new shell.
The picture quality from this flagship display is excellent, with the HD Ready 1,366×768-pixel panel combining an 800:1 contrast ratio and a 500cd/m2 brightness to devastating effect. The biggest news is that the TV has dual HDMI inputs — the first time we’ve seen this on a flat screen. You’d better get saving for later in the year, when you’ll be able to plug in a Sky HD box and an HD DVD player at the same time.
The TV has a massive amount of connectivity tucked away on the rear and side, including two RGB Scarts, HD-compatible component inputs for an Xbox 360 and even a subwoofer output. The TV currently costs around £1,250 and we’ll have a full review served up for you soon. -GC
