NEC unveils home cinema displays

NEC Australia announced on Thursday its new range of home cinema displays at the CEDIA expo on the Gold Coast, which includes six new LCDs and a high-definition 50-inch plasma.

The PXT-50XD1 plasma is a first for NEC, which they see as a strategic move to enter the home theatre market. Its features include a built-in HD TV tuner, 2 HDMI inputs, and a 720p/1080i resolution.

“Not only does the PXT-50XD1 look completely revolutionary in design, but the advanced connectivity and picture quality on this large 50-inch screen is sure to please the fussiest home theatre enthusiast,” said Paul Cunningham, NEC Australia’s category manager of audio visual.

NEC also launched a new range of integrated HD tuner LCD TVs at the event, with six new NLT-HDB3 models. The panel range spans 19-inch, 22-inch, 26-inch, 32-inch, 40-inch and 46-inch models. Prices start at AU$999 for the NLT-19″ HDB3 and culminate with the NLT-46″ HDB3 for AU$3,999. The PXT-50XD1 plasma retails for AU$3,999.
