Alexa coming to Fire tablets
1:10
Amazon’s Alexa is moving into the mobile world. The voice assistant is coming to some Amazon Fire tablets as a software update — and that includes the newly upgraded Fire HD 8, shipping on September 21 for $89. It’s big news for Alexa’s growth, but voice assistant news won’t get me excited until they bring Star Trek’s LCARS to my phone with Majel Barrett’s iconic voice.
Meanwhile, there’s news yet again in the Pokemon Go world. Soon you won’t need to pull out your phone to catch Pokemon in the wild. The Pokemon Go Plus wireless device will arrive next week — the same day the iPhone 7 and new Apple Watch Series 2 lands. (September 16 is shaping up to be a good day for geeks.)
