Eyes-on with Samsung’s bending 105-inch UHD TV
1:22
BERLIN — Not everyone is convinced that curved TVs are the future of entertainment, but nevertheless Samsung is betting big on the swooping-screen tech, expanding its lineup of curved televisions, and showing off a bendable 105-inch ultra high-definition monster here at IFA.
“We have tripled our lineup,” a Samsung spokesperson announced today in a press conference at Europe’s biggest tech show. The South Korean tech giant’s stable of curved TVs now stands at 17 models, including 4K, full HD and LED variants, ranging from 48 to 105 inches in size.
If you’re in the market for a 105-inch curved Samsung TV, you have a few options. The company gave its 105-inch UHD curved TV — which we first saw at CES in January — another airing at its event today, but also showed off a bendable variant, which can change from flat to curved.
That bendable option has a 21:9 aspect ratio, plus Samsung’s fancy dimming and upscaling tech, in a bid to get you a better viewing experience. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability, but expect this enormous set to carry an equally enormous price tag.
