The next Nexuses, the Google Nexus 6 phone and Nexus 9 tablet , are coming to the UK in a few weeks, bringing Android Lollipop with them.

The new devices will be available directly from Google or from retailers including Currys, PC World, John Lewis, Argos and Amazon. You’ll also be able to get them from UK networks Three and O2.

Prices are yet to be revealed, though in the US the 6 costs $649 (about £400) for the 32GB model or $699 (around £440) for the 64GB version. The 9 costs $399 (about £250) for the 16GB model, $479 (about £300) for the 32GB version, or $599 (about £375) for the 4G 32GB model.

As for release dates, the Nexus 9 hits the Google Play online store on 3 November, but you can reserve yours by preordering on Friday, 17 October. The Nexus 6 lands at some point in November.

We’ll continue to update this story in the next few weeks as we find out more.

Next Nexuses

The Nexus 6 sports a 6-inch display, making it the first Nexus phablet. A 4G device, it’s built by Motorola Mobility, which Google is in the process of selling to Lenovo. And the Nexus 9 tablet, made by HTC, boasts an eye-popping 8.9-inch screen.

As always, the Nexus devices will show off the newest version of Google’s Android mobile operating system. Following the current version, KitKat, we’re up to L in the alphabet — hence Lollipop.

Google has also revealed the first Android TV device, the Nexus Player , which is a streaming-media player put together by Asus. There’s no word yet on whether that will go on sale here; the setups of US and UK TV are very different, so we had to wait a while before Google’s current streaming device, the Chromecast, crossed to these shores.
