US Cellular is the latest carrier to pick up Motorola’s vivacious Moto X , selling the personality-driven smartphone for $100 with a two-year contract, or for a total of $480 without one (you can break this up over a period of 24 months).
That’s for the all-black model. In late October, US Cellular customers can also get the phone with black leather or bamboo backplates, more premium materials that exact a $50 surcharge, for a $150 on-contract bill.
There’s a lot to like about the Moto X, including metal trimmings and a comfortable, contoured in-hand feel. The specs, though not stratospheric, are satisfyingly high-end, and include a 13-megapixel camera and muscular quad-core processor to go along with that 5.2-inch 1080p HD display.
