As reported by GizmoChina, the so-called OnePlus Mini pictured here is set to feature a 5-inch display and a pair of 8-megapixel cameras. Internally, the smartphone may be powered by Android 4.4.4 KitKat and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.
A mid-2015 successor to the OnePlus One would make sense, but it’s murky whether this is the real deal.
Whereas the signature metal frame and small chin are present in this supposed OnePlus Mini, there’s nary a logo to be found. Looking at the display ,we cannot but help notice the thick bezel, which runs counter to the OnePlus One’s thin framing; this would seem like a step backward.
All things considered, we could be looking at a knock-off from a no-name hardware maker rather than a new phone in the OnePlus family.
According to a Reddit AMA conducted in October, the “OnePlus 2” will arrive in Q2 or Q3 of 2015. Would a retail-ready prototype be in the wild with some three to six months to go? We’ll have to wait for additional leaks to find out for certain, but we suspect not.
