When Google’s Android Wear platform first launched, it allowed users to select which apps they’d prefer not send alerts to the smartwatch.
The process required you to launch the Android Wear companion app on an Android device, tap a few buttons and then add an app (or 10) to the blocked list. It wasn’t a complicated process, but it was something users had to purposely set out to do and it took a fair amount of time to complete.
With the release of Android Lollipop 5.0.1 for Android Wear devices, however, users can now block an app directly on the watch.
When viewing a notification card from an app you’d like to block, swipe to the left until you’re presented with the “Block app” button (as seen above). Tap on it, then confirm your decision by touching the green check mark on the following screen.
Simple enough, right?
If you change your mind or accidentally block an app and want to undo your action, you can launch the Android Wear app on your paired Android device, tap on the Settings gear followed by Block app notifications.
