Want to treat yourself to a bargain and can’t wait until Boxing Day? Then you’re in luck, as this year’s sales start before the turkey is even served, with discounts like £200 off a MacBook available on Christmas Eve.
Retailers including Currys, PC World and Amazon are starting their sales early. Currys and PC World open their doors to discounts at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve, while Amazon starts its sale at 4 p.m. on Christmas Day — after the Queen, very patriotic.

Dixons Carphone, the company that owns Carphone Warehouse, Currys and PC World, has crunched the numbers and expects a bumper Christmas. It forecasts 2.3 million people will shop online on Boxing Day, and that’s not counting the million people expected to turn up to Currys and PC World stores. Stores open at 8 a.m. on Boxing Day to spend your Christmas money or collect items ordered online.
Of those shopping online, it’s anticipated as many as 70 per cent will do so on a phone or tablet. Dixons Carphone predicts the online peak rush will be at about 11.48am as revelers shake off their Christmas hangovers and think about gadgets for a bit in between their third and fourth turkey sandwiches.
