Announced back in September, Sigma has finally revealed the price and availability of its 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary lens, at least for the US: $1,100 (which converts to about AU$1,412 and £722; no pricing or avaliability yet for those locales).

In March, the lens will join the tiny ranks of 150-600mm supertelephoto lenses intended for use by nonprofessionals, which currently consists of the similarly priced Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD. Fujifilm just confirmed a model for its its 2015 roadmap, but it’s unclear how fast or expensive that lens will be.

The company had also announced a weather-sealed “Sports” version of the lens in September, which shipped last October for $2,000 (£1,600, AU$2,400).
