When it was released in February, the Dropbox for Gmail extension for Chrome let you easily send files via Dropbox without leaving the compose window in Gmail. The extension just received an update that added a few useful features that makes it even easier to send large files from Gmail.

For starters, you can now select multiple files or an entire folder to attach to an email. To do so, click the Compose button in Gmail and then click the Dropbox button that the extension adds next to the Send button. You can select multiple files just by clicking on them before clicking the Insert Links button to add them to your email. To select an entire folder, instead of clicking on its name (which opens the folder) click to the right of its name to select it.

Your recipient will receive links to your Dropbox files, and he or she will not need to have Dropbox or the Dropbox for Gmail extension installed to view or download your attachments.

Also, when you are the receiving end of an attachment, the extension adds a Save to Dropbox button for any attachment you receive, which saves you from having first to download an attachment before uploading it to Dropbox.

Earlier this week, Dropbox updated its iOS app with the ability to add comments for better mobile collaboration.
