23-Year-Old Brutally Attacked With Digging Fork In New Delhi, Succumbs To Injuries In Hospital

A gruesome murder took place on Thursday in the national capital when a 23-year-old was murdered using a digging fork, PTI reported.

The incident took place in Rana park area at around 8 pm and the deceased has been identified as Gautam Kumar. When a security guard named Indrajeet Mishra visited her sister’s house, her husband’s brother alias Gautam was also present there.

Mishra and Gautam started having a conversation on the road when a labourer and a resident of the locality came with a mini-truck. 29-year-old Dhan Kumar hit Gautam’s two-wheeler with his truck. Following this a scuffle broke out between the two parties.

Before anybody could be called for help, Kumar reportedly picked up a digging fork and attacked Gautam on his head. A senior police officer told PTI that Gautam suffered a severe blow to his head.

He was then taken to Baba Sahib Ambedkar hospital where he succumbed to injuries, Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer north) Gaurav Sharma said. While the police confirmed that neither Gautam nor Kumar were inebriated at that time.

The weapon involved in the murder has also been recovered. A case was registered the same night following which the main accused was arrested.

Meanwhile, last month a 26 year old man was given death penalty for killing his sister. Ashok, a resident of Juglan village in Hisar district was held guilty of murdering his sister Kiran on February 9, 2017. According to the prosecution, Rohtas of Siswal village had a love marriage with Kiran on August 8, 2015. The woman’s family had opposed their marriage as Rohtas belonged to a different community.
