The Rewari gangrape survivor missed giving the Central government job exam on September 19. She had spent months to prepare for the examination to get the job, instead, she now lies on a hospital bed.
The 19-year-old girl was gangraped on September 12 by a group of men who abducted her while she was on her way to the coaching class some distance away from her village. All of the accused have now been arrested and are known to the family of the survivor.
Haryana Police said that the accused may be involved in other incidents of sexual assault.
SIT head Nazneen Bhasin, who is the superintendent of police in Mewat, told TOI that the two accused stayed at Dharamshala, night shelters, areas under Army, and even slept in fields to evade arrest. They received monetary help from some petty criminals during this period. While on the run, the accused had buried their cellphones in an attempt to avoid being caught.

The police is now examining the role of more people in the crime and helping the accused to evade the arrest.
