A five-year-old girl was raped and dumped inside a pipe by her neighbour in Surat, Gujarat. The accused is allegedly 19-year-old. She has suffered injuries and was then admitted in the hospital. Her condition is said to be critical.

The accused, identified as Kalu Bhumihar, was taken into custody on Saturday night and was later arrested. According to a report in Hindustan Times, he has confessed to the crime but had misguided the police about the whereabouts of the girl.
A six-year-old boy with whom the girl was playing helped the police to trace her after she was picked up by the accused on Saturday evening.
