12-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Hangs Himself After Mom Scolds Him For Playing Games On Mobile

In an incident which shows how addictive mobile gaming is in the lives of youngsters, a 12-year-old boy allegedly took his own life by hanging himself using a dupatta at home in Mumbai’s Govandi neighbourhood after his mother scolded him for playing video games on mobile.

The incident happened in the area of Shivaji Nagar Police. A police official said the boy, who was home because of the lockdown, was engrossed in playing a game on the mobile. His mother rebuked him but he did not stop. So she snatched the phone from him. Angry, he went to a room on the third floor and locked himself in.
