Ever met a person with exactly the same name that you have? Well, Paul O’Sullivan from Baltimore, Maryland in USA recently had that experience online and is now good friends with his fellow Paul O’Sullivans. They have managed to form a music band, despite living in different parts of the world, as per a TNN report.
Baltimore Paul decided to add Paul O’Sullivans to his friend list on Facebook. When several accepted his request, he saw a few were musicians.
“A good amount of them accepted my friend request. Eventually, their stuff started showing up in my news feed. And I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, we’re all musicians.’ You know, it kind of felt like the universe was daring me to do something with this serendipitous scenario,” he said while speaking to CBS News.
He then reached out to the musician Paul O’Sullivans around the world. Three of them agreed to create a band with him.

Manchester Paul is on bass, Pennsylvania Paul is on percussion and Baltimore Paul and Rotterdam Paul are on guitar and vocals. The band name is The Paul O’Sullivan Band.
What’s in a name? A lot
“In this world, sometimes you think everything’s been done. Particularly with the internet, everything’s been covered, everything’s been done. Well actually, this felt like a first. And it still feels like a first,” Manchester Paul said.
“It feels great to be able to contact people on the other side of the world when you’re in lockdown because you don’t feel alone at the moment,” said Rotterdam Paul from the Netherlands said.
For all of them, music was the best way to express oneself in 2020.
“Once COVID came, so many doors had shut on musicians. And [Baltimore] Paul opened up this door already, right? Then we had an extra purpose,” Pennsylvania Paul said.
“Everybody said no, and Paul O’Sullivan Band said yes,” he added.
